For quite sometime many celebrities and well known persons are commenting about growing intolerance in India. At the same time there are many more to oppose them, criticize them and humiliate them. I think they may have there own reasons to think differently.
In my opinion there is Intolerance... hold on... there is Intolerance, there was intolerance and there will be intolerance. There is no place in world where it can not be found. Pick up any country, Russia and turkey.. Pakistan and India... US and China.. North Korea and South Korea.. Syria... Iran.. France.. and so on... Every country has a history of being intolerant. WW1 and WW2 are worst examples of Intolerance.
There was intolerance when Anna Hazare stood against corruption. India was intolerant in Kargil. We were intolerant in 1971, 1964 and 1947. Even before Independence Gandhiji, Sardar patel, Bhagat Singh, Mangal Pandey etc were intolerant to British Raj. Intolerance was there when Chhatrapati Shivaji stood against Mughals, Chankya against Alexander. Intolerance goes before the era of Mahabharat and Ramayana.
India was intolerant to Nirbhaya case and Net Neutrality. We had armed ourselves with weapons, candles, Facebook, Twitter and other social media. But there is one thing in common - we came forward together as a nation as INDIANS. This is not something new to us, may be as old as us. Definition of intolerance has changed over time and what matters is not the Intolerance itself but the way we handle it, react to it because it going to be there no matter which country or time we choose.
Recently, Amir Khan was intolerant to express his views. People are being intolerant to criticize him. I am being intolerant to express my views. I believe that debating about intolerance is worthless as it is not new to us. We should believe in the principle of uniting what we think is wrong. Intolerance doesn't mean you are not safe in India. If a right person is concerned of his safety in India then there is no place on Earth where he can feel safe. Only a person who thinks ill of India has a reason to feel unsafe in India that too in his own head. India is a heaven on earth where people listen you, criticize you but no one will behead you. India is very tolerant and accommodating but it will not tolerate Insult.
Being optimistic, I say intolerance is an invisible force which unite as a nation and doesn't belong to any religion, caste, age or race.
