If you are investing in mutual funds through any online mutual funds distribution platform like fundsindia then you can get the consolidated online statement from its web portal. If you are investing in direct mutual funds or through websites of mutual funds or offline or through demat account then you may need Consolidated Account statement to track and view your transactions.
It will be very time consuming to login to each AMC site and get the statement and consolidate it.
Registrar & Transfer (R&T) agents have come together to provide consolidated account statement. An R&T agent assists all three stakeholders i.e., AMC, investor and intermediary distributors. Below are the major R&T agents -
- CAMS (Computer Age Management Services)
- Karvy
- Sundaram BNP Pribas Fund Services (SBFS)
- Franklin Templeton Asset Mgmnt Ltd (FTAMIL is an in-house R&T for Franklin Templeton Mutual Funds)
What is Consolidated Account Statement (CAS) ?
Consolidated account statement is a single statement to view all your Mutual Fund (MF) holdings across fund houses. You may have made a old MF investment and forget the details. Or, you may have invested in some schemes through brokers and don't have the details. This single statement provides summary as well as details of all you MF holdings. You can get the detailed statement for current financial year, previous financial year or for a specific period by specifying the start and end date.
Statement having Summary will have the valuation of your MFs and the units held by you of each MF. Detailed statement will have all the transaction details of purchase, redeem and switch.
For me, this statement is very useful to get the details of investment made at the end of financial year. Another statement which you may be interested to know at the end of financial year is the capital gains statement.
